Mariner’s Venetian container terminal – TIV – handled its highest ever number of containers in a single month in July 2014, an 18% increase over that handled in July last year.
TIV welcomes new client
On the 7th July 2014 TIV welcomed a new client – ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (ZIM). It’s first call was made with the line’s 1,300 TEU capacity m/v MICHIGAN TRADER. ZIM’s Adriatic Express Service (ADX), whose rotation includes: Haifa – Ashdod – Durres – Koper – Trieste – Venice – Ravenna, is to call the terminal on a weekly basis.
MFB largest Latvian-registered company in 2013
Mariner Finance Baltic (MFB) – which was set up as a new subsidiary to hold Mariner’s Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) – was the largest company to be registered in Latvia last year. MFB has a share capital of €40 million and is now the sole owner of BCT, which Mariner has operated since 1996.

Both TIV and BCT handled their highest ever number of containers in 2013.
New warehousing at BCT
BCT’s latest investment in additional warehousing facilities was completed in December 2013. The newly commissioned warehouses bring BCT’s total warehousing capacity up to 20,400 square metres.

Construction has been completed on a new insulated and heated general cargo warehouse at BCT with a storage area of 5,400 square meters, thus bring our total warehousing facilities to over 20,000 square meters.
HRO granted for Scottish RICT
Permission has been granted for the development of the Rosyth International Container Terminal in Scotland following a public local inquiry in 2012. The proposed terminal is to be developed within Port Babcock Rosyth which is owned by Babcock. Mariner was selected as the preferred operator of the container terminal earlier this year.
Mariner selected as preferred operator for Scottish Terminal
In 2013 Mariner was selected as the preferred operator for the development of a container terminal – the Rosyth International Container Terminal (RICT). RICT is to be developed as a gateway terminal within Port Babcock Rosyth which is owned and operated by Babcock Mariner. The site, on the north bank of the firth of Forth, is a short distance away from the Scottish Capital Edinburgh.
Mariner acquired a 48% shareholding in Durres Container Terminal
In 2012 Mariner acquired a 48% shareholding in Durres Container Terminal (DCT) in Albania, together with what is the overall management of the largest container terminal in Albania. The terminal acts as the principal gateway for containerised cargo. Durres handles some 80% of all national seaborne trade primarily serving the Albanian market.
TIV handled its highest container throughput yet
In 2012 TIV handled its highest ever number of containers; an increase of some 20% over 2011 was recorded.
