Extension of warehousing capacity at BCT

Further extension of BCTs warehousing capacity is planned such that the existing capacity of 20,000sqm will be doubled through the addition of two new warehouses. The first stage of the project is to include new rail access to both warehouses, one of which is planned to be heated.

BCT to go live with N4 v3.1 beginning 2016

BCT is to be the first container terminal worldwide to go live with Navis’ N4 version 3.1 which was released in October this year and is an upgrade on the current v2.6 and includes unique features such as  weighing system integration API and visual web-based and touch-aware crane driver’s user interface.

New STS crane at BCT

A new ship-to-shore container crane, produced by Sany, was commissioned at BCT in November 2015. Lifting capacity of 45t under spreader, an outreach of 44.5m and a lift above quay level of 34m. This is the 4th STS crane at BCT – this will allow for servicing of larger vessels and will also significantly speed up operations at the terminal.

New crane for TIV

A new mobile harbour crane with lifting capacity of 125t has been order for TIV. The crane is expected to go into service in June 2015.

BCT has acquired new 45t gantry crane, consequently increasing effectiveness in the discharging and loading process. The crane will go into service in June 2015.

BCT welcomes new client

On the 22nd April 2015 BCT welcomed a new client X-Press Feeders. It’s first call was made with the line’s m/v HANNI. X-Press Feeders Baltic Sea XPress 3, whose rotation includes: Rotterdam- Riga-Klaipeda-Rotterdam, is to call the terminal on a weekly basis.

Record monthly volumes at TIV

During the month of March 2015 TIV handled its highest ever number of containers in a single month, bring an increase of 35% in the first quarter over the same period last year.

Mariner’s Venetian container terminal – TIV – handled its highest ever number of containers in a single month in July 2014, an 18% increase over that handled in July last year.

TIV welcomes new client

On the 7th July 2014 TIV welcomed a new client – ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (ZIM). It’s first call was made with the line’s 1,300 TEU capacity m/v MICHIGAN TRADER. ZIM’s Adriatic Express Service (ADX), whose rotation includes: Haifa – Ashdod – Durres – Koper – Trieste – Venice – Ravenna, is to call the terminal on a weekly basis.

MFB largest Latvian-registered company in 2013

Mariner Finance Baltic (MFB) – which was set up as a new subsidiary to hold Mariner’s Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) – was the largest company to be registered in Latvia last year. MFB has a share capital of €40 million and is now the sole owner of BCT, which Mariner has operated since 1996.
