TERMINAL INTERMODALE VENEZIA
LOCATION AND MARKET
TIV at the head of three transport networks
Terminal Intermodale Venezia (TIV) manages its port operations at Molo A, a container terminal in the Port of Venice. This port is positioned on the north-western edge of the Adriatic coast where access from the sea is granted by two main channels: the Malamocco to the south of the lagoon and the Lido to the north. TIV is located in the Marghera Commercial Port. This port is one of the most important industrial areas in Italy and is directly connected to the A4, the main motorway to Milan, Udine, Tarvisio, Trieste and Eastern Europe, the A13 to Bologna and Rome, the A27 to Belluno and the A22 to Brennero, Austria and Germany. Train connections are guaranteed to the European cities in Germany, Austria and Slovenia and to the main Italian cities. There are navigable canal connections to the River Po through the Padano-Veneto waterway system. This system allows Venice to be linked by river barges to Cremona and Mantova.
