BCT connectivity grows markets

Latvia’s favourable geopolitical environment provides excellent business opportunities for reaching the four major growth markets that border Latvia: Estonia, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus. Riga’s location makes perfect sense for the development of logistics support to the industrial heartland and other neighbouring states with its rail and road networks to Moscow, Kaluga, Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Kiev, Vilnius, Tallinn, Almaty and Tashkent. What’s more, Latvia is not only located at the centre of the Baltic States but it also represents the financial hub of the Baltic countries.

In fact, BCT has its own rail handling facility and direct rail access. It also has a good rail connection as far afield as central Asia including Kazakhstan Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. To increase that efficiency, BCT has rail-mounted container cranes that are used for the loading and unloading of the rail platforms. The terminal is ISPS-certified and incorporates all the necessary security measures to ensure a smooth-running operation at all times.
