Baltic Container Terminal – Capacity
A 450,000 TEU capacity at BCT in Riga.
Clients arriving at this terminal enjoy generous facilities, reliable equipment, a transport network that is logistically efficient and a trained workforce that ensures commitment and reliability.
BCT’s three principal operating activities are the berthing allocation of vessels along its 450 metres of quays, the loading and discharge of containers and reefer storage, and the warehousing of cargo. With a capacity to handle some 450,000 TEU per annum, BCT has developed integrated logistics chains that can handle a wide range of value-added services and cargo mixes for the region. Its operations cover an area of 57 hectares with rail heads situated at the quay side. This lies adjacent to its 15,000 square meters of expanding warehouse facilities. These warehouses provide convenient distribution to Russia and Latvia as well as to other neighbouring countries.
Other ancillary services such as stuffing and stripping of cargo from containers to rail wagons or trucks are also part of the BCT quality offering. Amongst those shipping lines that call at the Riga terminal are CMA-CGM, MSC, Unifeeder, Maersk and TeamLines. Other lines using the terminal’s services, via the use of common feeders, include OOCL, NYK, China Shipping and Evergreen.
